If you don’t feel like selecting an elaborate and expensive organizing system, buying a closet shelves organizer could be a very good solution for your bedroom closet. But before you head out to the shops to buy one, make sure you do some homework first to assess your requirements.
Declutter Quickly
You can declutter your bedroom closet quickly in just a couple of hours. Get yourself a stopwatch and literally set the timer for two hours. Treat it as a race where you are competing against the clock. Press the start button on your stopwatch and see how much you can get done in a couple of hours. Springclean your closet by emptying out all the contents, and discard any old stuff.
Throw Away
If you are going to make any progress with reorganizing your closet, you will need to get rid of old stuff. Possessions that are old and tackled, broken, or where you already have two or more similar items are prime candidates for throwing away. If you want to give away your well loved possessions and they are still in good condition, set them aside to donate to a charity or to give away to friends.
Measure Up
Before you head out the door to buy a closet organizer, don’t forget to measure the dimensions of your closet. When you get to your local organizing store, grab your handy measuring tape and try to find a demonstration model which you can measure up. Try to allow for adequate space in your closet on either side of your proposed new installation.
Making a Choice
Choose a robust organizing system that has adequate storage to allow you to store your accessories such as belts, scarfs, and smaller items. The number of pockets that comes with different models is a handy feature to compare in assessing your requirements.
Storage Containers
Whilst you are at the organizing store, you may also want to consider buying other storage containers to fit your closet. Garment bags are also useful for storing last season’s clothes like bulky winter clothes.
Install
When you come home with your new organizing system, installation should be a relatively painless process. Read the instructions carefully and install your new organizer with care.
Organize
Take some time to plan what are going to store on each shelf and in each pocket of your new organizer. Choose a logical system for storing items so that you can easily remember where you stored different items. Group similar items together and store them in the same pocket. That way, you won’t be wasting time searching for missing items.
It can be a drama reorganizing your closet but a handy closet shelves organizer can help you organize your closet with minimal fuss.
